4 months later...

It's really embarrassing to admit that my last post was four months ago... FOUR!  I guess I just needed a break from blogging.  I've had some requests for an update lately (Marla and Brooke - this is for you!), so I decided its time I catch you up on what we've been doing since November!

I'll start waaaay back in December, with Christmas.  Chloe had the genius idea to show up at the family Christmas wearing a Santa suit, and "tricking" everyone.  It was a big hit!

We wrapped up 2013 by spending a low-key NYE at home, just the three of us.  It was Chloe's first time staying up til midnight!  We spent the night creating our resolutions for 2014, watching Despicable Me 2, eating ice cream, and having a dance party!

I wonder how many of these we've managed to keep??

I got in touch with my crafty side by painting some gold-tipped feathers!

We've gone snowboarding a couple of times.  Gorgeous views on the mountain!

In February, we went to a quadruple-birthday party at Oaxaca (best Mexican food ever!) followed by playing darts and shuffleboard at Market Arms.

P.S. You may also notice that I went blonde!!

Our friend Gabe even made this awesome video on his phone to capture the night!

The next day was Superbowl Sunday... which was an AMAZING game!!!  Go Hawks!!

We went to a superbowl party and my job was "veggie tray".  I did not disappoint.

Look how pretty!  I made a rainbow!

A few days later was the Super Bowl Parade, to celebrate the Seahawk's return home.  Some (crazy) people showed up downtown at 3am to get a spot on the sidewalk.  Insanity!  It was sooo cold that day, too.  Lucky for me, I work right on 4th Ave, so I had this nice little bird's eye view of the parade from the comfort of my office.

People already waiting, hours before the parade started.

Clearly this is not a great video, but just listen to how loud it was during the parade!! It was definitely hard to get any work done that day.

And here's a few other fun little things we've been up to, which include but are not limited too:

Sledding in our front yard!!

Taking naps.  Lots and lots of naps.

Chasing rainbows downtown!  Gig Harbor has some of the best views, I swear!

Buying Chloe her first skateboard!  Well, longboard, if we're getting technical.

She's slowly but surely getting the hang of it, as you can see.

And this is super random, but I even went through a brief period was I was convinced I needed a pet bunny.  This bunny, to be exact:

Meet Mimi from the Gig Harbor Rabbit Haven.  Cute, right??

Sadly for me, Tony responded with an "absolutely not".  I pestered him for days, but he wouldn't relent.  I even spent an embarrassing amount of time looking up bunnies on Instagram.  But alas, we did not buy a bunny.  And to be honest, I'm kinda glad.  I tend to become obsessed with things, only to forget about them a few weeks later.  So, a 15-year commitment to a high maintenance furry friend may not have been the brightest idea.

We also explored McCormick Forest in Gig Harbor, which is so pretty!  There were so many cute streams too, but for some reason they didn't look as amazing when I tried to photograph them.  The iphone just isn't cutting it, I guess!

I loved this natural arch over the path!

Tony showed off some musical talents.  He just taught himself "Shine" by Collective Soul.  An oldy, but a goody!

I got crafty again last weekend with my first attempt of making tissue paper garland!

A work in progress...
Finished!

This project was for my sister-in-law's surprise party for her 40th birthday.  And boy, was she surprised!  She literally fell backwards when she opened the door and saw all of us.  Luckily my brother was standing behind her to catch her fall.  Success!!  You can watch the big surprise here.

And lastly, I celebrated St. Patty's day on Monday with some green Stella!  Tony was too cool for green beer, and had a Guinness instead.  I forgot to wear green that day, but luckily I was able to escape un-pinched.

There you go, 4 months in a nutshell!  I'm going to make an effort to start blogging more regularly again, because I've missed you all!!

Xo,

Rachael
