So, I joined a gym.
And it just so happens to be the most amazing gym I’ve ever been to!! It’s just the local YMCA, so I wasn't expecting anything fancy. But I stopped by
for the first time last night and was blown away. Just check out the pool!

I wonder if that slide is just for kids….
Yesterday I was complaining to a friend that I’d gained a few pounds over the holidays, and that I’d completely lost motivation for getting back on track with eating and exercise. My friend suggested I check out Jamie Eason’s free online program. I was skeptical at first. I mean…she’s a bodybuilder! But after spending some time on her website and browsing through her 12-week program (which includes daily workouts and an eating plan), it started to actually seem doable. Even for me!
So last night I completed work out #1, and boy are my arms killing me this morning! But in a good way. I’m excited to get back in there tonight. And being excited about going to the gym is totally foreign to me!
To anyone else needing a little boost of motivation, this should do the trick.

Wish I would have seen this post before I had McDonald's for lunch.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that gym is awesome. A slide?? I think that's where I would be all day every day.
Lucky!!!
I know.. it's so cool!! I can't wait to take Tony's daughter there. :) It's going to be hard to commit to this work out plan though. I commute to work almost 2 hours a day each way.... insane, i know. Plus we have Chloe every other night so it will be hard to make it to the gym on those nights. This may call for some 4am morning workouts.... i'm cray cray!!!
Deleteyou can do it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I have Vegas to motivate me now!
DeleteI had my gym induction the other day, feels great to know I'm going to start getting fit again!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Bekka! It does feel really good. Everytime I see my belly in the mirror, I just think "you are going to be gone soon!!" :)
DeleteI wasn't motivated to work out at first (September), but after seeing results I was WAAAAY more motivated. It also helped that I had to pay for my work out classes. I felt obligate to go, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Sarah! I can't wait to see results. :)
DeleteThat pool is incredible, I want to go down the slide too. Knowing that I will be going to Hawaii has definately helped me stay motivated to work out. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteFinally got to use the slide! And it was amazing!
DeleteI used to be MUCH more in shape than I am now, but I made a deal to work out with a dear friend (at 6AM 3 times a week) which is super helpful. I also maybe made a bet with my boyfriend about who could get back in shape more quickly...probably my biggest driving factor ;)
ReplyDeleteI believe in you!
Thanks, you are too sweet. :) making a deal with my boyfriend would work...if he had any weight to lose, which he does not. But he has been going to the gym with me so that helps.
Deletewow that gym looks amazing!! i want to get in that pool! that victorias secret model makes me sad! lol
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun! And she shouldn't make you sad when you look exactly like that!
DeleteThat gym looks amazing! What an awesome pool! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, Francesca! It is really nice. :)
DeleteLove the pool! Good luck!

Thanks, Regine!!
Deletei totally refused to watch that fashion show this year, lol!
ReplyDeletei was shocked to see that pool belonged to a Y! amazing! i want to join the Y instead of la fitness where were at. it takes so much to get me going to the gym. especially at this time of the year, all the business intimidates me!
you go girl!
I didn't watch it this year either. :) I used to work out at LA Fitness when I lived in Seattle. It was ok but they were always out of towels and the locker room always seemed dirty. The step class was fun though!
DeleteYay! That's exciting! What motivates me is setting small goals like running a mile without walking or being able to do a certain number of situps without stopping, or accomplishing a pull up! You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteThat't a great idea, because I don't even think I can run a mile at this point!
DeleteI got to Gold's Gym which is pretty sweet but your YMCA's pool takes the cake!!

Fierce & Fashionable
It is pretty awesome. :)
DeleteYou're totally inspirational, Rach. I'm doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, and to be completely honest, I see a slight change (I'm on Day 15) but nothing too intense. I should step it up, eh?!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that pool! Dare you to go on the water slide...
I have Jillian Michael's 30 day shred also... I only used it 3 or 4 times I think. It was so long ago. I have really been sticking to Jamie Eason's plan though. I am SO sore! My whole body feels like a giant bruise. Tonight is shoulders and abs.... yikes!
DeleteThat pool! I would go and just hang alllll day.
ReplyDeleteWork out classes always help to motivate me - having a set time that you sign up for, and someone motivating you throughout the workout - has made all the difference!
Isn’t That Charming.
Thanks, Emily! Yes, I am excited to try the yoga and zumba classes. :)
Deletethat is amazing.. and I thought our Y was nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the motivation and if I had access to a gym like that I would be there everyday. It looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now and would love for you to follow along.

It does make working out pretty fun!
DeleteI want to go to this gym!!!! This looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty great!!
DeleteI wish my YMCA had a pool like that!
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks for the comment. :) I have not swam in the pool yet! But yeah it's so affordable. I guess we're lucky because this Y was recently updated. :)
