Target shopping & bus crashing

I stopped by Target last night to refill a prescription and pick up a new swimsuit for Chloe.  As we all know, there is no "stopping by" when it comes to Target.  No "quick in and out".  It's more like "Oh, I  have a 15-minute wait until my prescription is filled??  Hmmm how much damage can I do in 15 minutes..."  The answer is, a lot.

Luckily I had enough self-control to breeze right past the women's and junior's section, because that is one black hole I didn't want to get sucked into right then.

First things first, I stuck to the task at hand and bought Chloe a new swimsuit.  She wansn't with me so I hope it fits!  She's so long but so narrow, which can make swimsuits difficult.  I don't want her to suffer from baggy-butt syndrome.  But how cute is this teal one with stars??

Target

And of course she needed some new summer shoes!!  (Do these come in my size?  Which, for reference, is size gigantic.)

Target

Now onto the fun stuff.  I always stop by the home decor section when I go to Target.  It's like a force of nature pulls me in that direction and I'm powerless to stop it.  If you follow my instagram, you've already seen my new pretties.  I bought the Nate Berkus Urchin that I've been wanting since I saw it on Young House Love, and this adorable yarn rhino that I just couldn't say no to.  He was so lonely on the shelf, the last one of his kind, so I had to adopt him.

Here they are in their new homes!  The ram head was also from the Nate Berkus collection, and we bought him a few months ago.  ( I can't find it online anymore, so you might be out of luck.)

It was fun sneaking them onto the shelves and waiting to see if Tony noticed how much extra money I blew wisely spent.  He didn't even question me when I walked into the house with three Target shopping bags.  I guess he's beyond the point of questioning my shopping habits.

In other news, my morning commute was rather eventful!  For those that don't know my sob story, I commute an hour and a half to and from work each day via *shudder* public transportation (said in a Lynsey voice).  I know, I know, I'm a crazy person for spending 3 hours of my day commuting.  Gotta make that money, y'all!

So there I was enjoying the peaceful drive, g-chatting with Jamie about organic face washes, when BOOM!  The bus collides with the truck in front of us.  Everyone was okay, but we had to wait on the side of the freeway while other buses stopped and picked us up, about 5-10 people at a time.  And just my luck, I was sitting in the back, so it took forever and I wound up being an hour and a half late to work.  I snapped this picture of the aftermath on my way off the bus, mainly to prove to my boss that I wasn't full of bologna tofurkey.

Ahh, the stories I could tell about riding this bus.  But I won't, because this blog is G-rated.  Let's just say I've seen an "indecent" amount of "exposure" and leave it at that.

So, how was your morning?

    1. I'm glad too! Tony jinxed me. Yesterday he said I should have pulled an April Fool's joke on my boss by texting and saying my bus crashed and caught fire and I was running an hour and a half late! So crazy! Luckily there was no fire but I was an hour and a half late! When I texted my boss this morning I even said "this is no late April Fool's joke!" Haha.

    1. Haha I can't believe you forgot the yoga mat. :) I ended up spending about $70 somehow! It adds up so quickly. I also bought a pair of gold sandals for me but I'm returning them, I don't like how they feel. Oooh you were outside in the cold? We at least got to wait on the warm bus. They shouldn't make a pregnant girl wait outside, how mean.

  3. Oh my gosh, so glad you're okay after the bus crash (and did they take your info or anything?). Terrifying. Good thing that your boss is understanding! Holy moly.

    1. Yep they wrote down everyone's name and number and what seat they were sitting in, so I wonder if they plan to call everyone? I feel really bad for the bus driver, he really tried his best to stop in time but traffic was just so bad.

  4. Scary bus crash! I would have flipped out!
I know what you're saying about "size gigantic" feet--I wear a 13. Yeah, there are no shoes under $100 for people with feet that big. I've considered just wrapping them in fabric and taping it with colorful duct tape. Cool?

    1. Haha the colored duct tape is a great idea! Luckily you get to wear bogs and coveralls all day, every day, right? :)

P.S. Love your new blog design!!

  6. Oh my gosh! The buses around here are pretty reckless, but I've never seen any of them actually hit anything/anyone. That's not fun at all!

  7. Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad you're OK!!

I can totally relate with you on shopping at Target.

I did the same exact thing today, which is crazy. In advance, I called the Pharmacy and asked them for a refill and that I'd be there shortly to pick it up. Well, instead of walking into Target and heading straight to the pharmacy, I stopped by their $1-$3 bin, bought a few things there. Then went to the children's section and bought 3 pairs of shorts, and 4 shirts for my daughter (they were 20% off!). Oh, and 6 pairs of socks for her, too. Mind you, I just spent about $40 [at Target] on shoes last week (which are shown on my post here - http://thepinteresthousewife.blogspot.com/2013/03/here-comes-peter-cottontail.html). They were BOGO50% off so I bought 2 for me and two for my daughter.

Spent $70 dollars today at Target. $65 more than what I came in there for (my $5 prescription). HORRIBLE! LOL!

  8. DUDE. I could have lost my blog BFF forever and ever. SO glad you weren't hurt!!

Ummm, you get your RX's filled at Target? OMG that would be a death sentence for me. I would be in even more debt than I am now HAHA!

    1. I'm glad I wasn't hurt too! Luckily the bus is pretty much like a tank so unless it tips over or catches fire, I'll be a-ok.

I used to fill them at Bartell's but switched to Target last month since it's on my way to the gym. Haha probably not the best move!
