roses are pink, violets are blue

Wow, I can't believe I didn't do a High Five for Friday post or a weekend recap post!  All my thoughts lately have been centered around one thing, and that's our potential new house!  Our realtor sent all the paperwork to the bank on Friday, but because the home is a short sale, it could be weeks before we find out if we get the house.  And I'm going to be pretty bummed out if they don't accept our (generous) offer!  I know more options will pop up during the spring and summer months, but I've already re-painted and decorated the entire house in my mind, and I really don't want to start again from scratch...in my mind.

Today's post is going to be a short one, but I just wanted to share the mood board I created for Chloe's new room.  I just love this color palette!  It's so sweet and girly.  She told me she wanted a "blue and pink" room (which immediately made me think of cotton candy), so I want to do soft aqua walls with coral accents.  To a kid, that is blue and pink.  Technically, she requested "blue and pink zebra-striped walls".  A girl can dream, right?

Top: Behr Cool Jazz / Ikea bed / Etsy throw pillow
Middle: Etsy print / vintage vanity / Etsy print
Bottom: cloud pillow / ombre dresser / striped curtains

How cute is that cloud pillow??  Adorbs!

So, what do you think?  Any other great recommendations for a wall color?

  1. Love that color scheme!! Are you thinking white bedding for a kids room tho?! That might be dangerous! In my house it would be... those darn kids hide stainables in every crevice of their body! LMAO

    1. Thanks! Yeah, she has white sheets now and she's never gotten anything on them, so I think we're safe. I can't think of anything in her room that would stain...she doesn't eat in her room and she actually doesn't have any markers (yet), just crayons. I do love that bedspread but it's almost $200 so if I can't find a cheaper version then we'll do something else. :)

    1. Thanks, Sarah! Is BM paint expensive?? I had no idea! Maybe you could have it color-matched to a different brand?

    1. I totally agree with the gray accents! If I had my way, every room would have gray in it. My boyfriend makes fun of me because whenever we're trying to pick out colors for something, I'm always like "GRAY!" before I even consider another color. Half of my closet is probably made up of gray! I just love it.

  4. I love your ideas. Palladian blue is nice but Icing on the Cake is especially cute (maybe it's partially the name too). Oh Benjamin Moore, you get us on those names everytime! Also check out Forget Me Not (might be a litle too vibrant), Bird's Egg, and Barely Teal.

    1. I just searched all three of those colors, love them! It's such a hard decision. I guess I'll need to bring home actual swatches to see how they look in our house instead of basing the decision off the computer screen. :) Thanks for the help!

    1. Thanks, Betty! Yes, Pinterest is a total life-saver for me. I have to visually see everything together. Although it's not always 100% because sometimes things are different shades in real life so they don't end up matching.

  8. love the colors, I always thought if I was pregnant and didn't know the sex of the baby I would start by decorating in light blue and if it was a girl add pink, i just love those two together. love the rug, and striped curtains and the way they painted that dresser,so cute!

    1. Thanks, Ashley!! I love the bedding so much. It's a little pricey, especially for a kid's room, but I'm hoping to find something cheaper with the same look.
